General Revision tips 1 week before the CDS exam
- Schedule 1 to 2 hours for each section of the exam every day.
Set a timetable and follow it religiously. Invest 50% of your time revising and 50% time in practising or solving questions. This way, you can strengthen your memorisation and analytical skills together efficiently.
- Keep all your study materials properly organised.
Your study materials are crucial one week before the exam. Therefore, arrange it in a way that you can pick them and study them without wasting time looking for them.
- Don’t pick up any new topics at the last moment.
Aspirants make the mistake of studying difficult topics one week before the exam. It’s really hard to memorize a lot of information in a short period of time. Therefore, study a little each day over the week before the exam and only the topics that you have already studied. This will help you analyse your preparation appropriately.
- Make flashcards or flowcharts to recall process-related concepts.
Flashcards or flowcharts help to visualise a process effectively without cramming the concepts. This helps you recall important information and events with ease, and chances of correctness in the exam also increase with this technique.
- Attempt 3 to 4 mock tests during last week.
Last week is critical, and you need to estimate your preparation. Mock tests are a great way to analyse your understanding and predict your performance in the CDS exam. Therefore practise 3 to 4 mock tests- all sections combined, and check your speed and accuracy for the CDS exam.
